Venturing out in the Big Apple, Lady Gaga was spotted making her way around New York City on Monday night (August 8).
The "Judas" singer was clad in an unusually tame all-black ensemble as she carried flowers in-hand while visiting a friend's house.
The outing comes as it was recently announced that MTV has added a new category to the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards called Best Video With A Message.
Gaga happens to be among the initial nominees for her "Born This Way" offering - as she's competing against Pink for "F**kin' Perfect," Eminem featuring Rihanna for "Love The Way You Lie," Rise Against for "Make It Stop (September's Children)" and Taylor Swift for "Mean."
Of the addition to the usual lineup, MTV President Stephen Friedman explained, "During the past year, we've seen a remarkable number of artists use their music to explore deeply personal experiences and issues they were passionate about to create powerful videos that resonated with and inspired millions of their fans."
