Purple reigns on Prince's Hop Farm rider

The organisers of the Hop Farm music festival pulled off a massive coup when they persuaded Prince to perform his first UK gig for four years.

And he didn't disappoint... with his set or his rider.
The tiny pop superstar insisted on a purple-painted dressing room built to his own specifications.

But according to The Sun, Prince's backstage haven had to be rebuilt three times before it was exactly right, which must have gone down well with the backstage crew, none of whom were allowed to look the diminutive singer in the eye.

With the room filled with matching furniture and wall hangings, there was just one thing left for the lilac-loving star to do... jump in a limo for the 80ft journey to the stage.

Still, at least fans got their money's worth - the audience were treated to a full two-and-a-half-hour set and Prince was treated to a rapturous reception.
