Amy Winehouse is to be cremated today following a private service attended by her family and close friends.The troubled singer, who was found dead at her home in Camden on Saturday, will be laid to rest in Golders Green, north London.
The ceremony will go ahead even though her cause of death has not been confirmed, with police indicating that it may take up to four week for test results to be available. An inquest into her death has been opened and adjourned.
Jewish law states that a funeral has to take place as soon as possible after death.
A spokesman for the family said last night: "The funeral will take place on Tuesday and will be a family and close friends affair."
Hundreds of well-wishers have been leaving tribute notes, flowers, beer cans and cigarettes outside Amy's home.
Her parents visited the scene and thanked them yesterday, with her dad Mitch saying he was "devastated and speechless".
