The couple issued a joint statement, published in the Herald Sun, which read: "Delta Goodrem and Brian McFadden regretfully announce that they are no longer engaged, and after much consideration, have mutually decided to end their relationship.
"This decision has been made with a lot of soul searching from both parties with the realisation that they have grown apart."
Former Westlife singer Brian met Goodrem back in 2007 and they were engaged a year later. But after four (probably very long) years, Delta seems to have finally seen sense.
Paying tribute to the hottest woman he'll probably ever pull, Brian tweeted: "i love delta and always will. She is one of gods living angels.
"I thank her for giving me the best years of my life. Please give us time x"
So far, there has been no such glowing praise from Delta. Still, perhaps the break up explains Brian's less-than-charming behaviour of late.

She might be a supermodel, but Kate Moss's most recent two boyfriends haven't been quite in the same league as her previous hook-ups in the looks department. Call us shallow, but the druggy mess that is Pete Doherty and the less-than-easy on the eye Jamie Hince leave a lot to be desired on the hunk-o-meter. Johnny Depp must have really put Kate off gorgeous men.
One's an upcoming British supermodel and the other fights off freaky monsters for a living. That's Daisy Lowe and her boyfriend Matt Smith, aka Doctor Who and the very lucky man who's managed to snare Ms Lowe's heart. It's not that Smith is particularly unattractive; he's just a bit, well, weird looking. That said he's a cool dude befitting of the part of boyfriend to one of London's hottest starlets.
We're sure that multi-millionaire Donald Trump isn't stupid, so it probably wouldn't come as a surprise to him if someone told him it wasn't his looks that wife Melania Knauss was attracted to. Unless men with ginger comb overs are totally her type, of course.
Kate Hudson's previous boyfriends include Owen Wilson and musician Chris Robinson, neither of whom are giving David Beckham a run for his money in the sex symbol stakes. The daughter of Goldie Hawn's current boyfriend is Muse frontman Matt Bellamy and, while we're sure he's a great guy and a very talented musician, Matt cements the fact that Kate certainly doesn't go for looks.
Before dipping his wick elsewhere, Peter Crouch admitted he was only too aware that he would never be able to bag a babe like his fiancé Abbey Clancy were it not for the fact he was a famous footballer. Crouchy clearly forgot this when he was making out in the back of a taxi with a prostitute. We'd like to say he'll never pull a babe like Abbey again, but £70k a week suggests otherwise.
Former Brookside actress Anna Friel met actor David Thewlis in 2001 and the pair have been rock solid ever since. Friel, who recently starred as Audrey Hepburn in a theatrical production of Breakfast at Tiffany's, obviously likes her men rough and ready. Thewlis starred in the movie Gangster No1 in which he portrayed a gangland boss, the type who likes an attractive girl on his arm.
Despite the fact he bears a striking resemblance to 90s TV character Pob, Jay Z has found himself married to Beyonce, one of the world's sexiest women. Of course the fact that he is a mega-famous, multi-millionaire music producer who helped kick-start Beyonce's career means he had a much better chance with Ms Knowles than your average Pob look-alike.
Coleen's a sweet looking girl who could certainly do a lot better than husband Wayne Rooney, a moody man who has spent his entire career getting compared to Shrek. When he isn't skulking around the football pitch or acting like a 13-year-old boy who's kicked his football over next door's fence, Wayne once liked to spend his time with unsavoury women who go by names such as Auld Slapper.
