Cheryl has a big hair day

It looks like Cheryl Cole has been celebrating (probably) getting the job on The X Factor US by going bonkers with a tin of hairspray.

But the Girls Aloud star actually showed off this beehive-tastic new 'do (and the making-of picture) as part of a shoot for L'Oreal's Elnett hairspray - which she is paid lots and lots of money to promote.
The hairspray is celebrating its 50th birthday, hence 27-year-old Cheryl getting the retro rock 'n' roll-inspired hairdo.

In case you were wondering, this style has been dubbed "rock it", while there are two others also featured in the campaign called "glam it" and "work it".

We can't wait to see those.
