The Big Red Nose Desert Trek | The British At Work | Monroe | Hellcats | Skins | How To Make It In America

The Big Red Nose Desert Trek
9pm, BBC1

One of many Comic Relief-related programmes in the run up to the big event tomorrow, the Big Red Nose Desert Trek does something we've all imagined by packing Olly Murs off into the desert. But it's all for a good cause, as he joins eight other famous types, including Kara Tointon, Lorraine Kelly and Nadia Sawalha in trekking 100 kilometres across Kenya's Kaisut desert, often in 50C temperatures. Along the way they meet people who are losing their sight and use their journey to spread the word about an eye care camp where they can get treatment.

The British At Work
9pm, BBC2

In the second episode of this exceptional documentary series, Kirsty Young harnesses the power of endless BBC archive footage to tell the story of British workers in the 1960s and 70s. Unions, management and government squabble as technology threatens jobs and British productivity declines, but it's the interviews with the workers in the present that really stand out. That, and a very peculiar Bruce Forsyth single.

Monroe
9pm, ITV1

The second episode in the new medical drama series has the brilliant but flawed (aren't they always?) neurosurgeon Monroe operating on a boy who shot himself in the head after accidentally shooting his brother with a handgun at home. James Nesbitt seems to enjoy himself greatly (one moment cocky one-liners; the next, moody looks and pathos) and creator Peter Bowker knows how and when to push the buttons: he's carefully crafted a show that nimbly pushes the story along and effortlessly slides across humour, medical procedure, emotional drama and schmaltz as required.

Martin Skegg

Hellcats
9pm, MTV

It's the qualifying Regionals and there's troubling brewing for the perky cheerleading team. Dysfunctional mum Wanda gets a little bit too involved in all things pom-pom-based for Marti's liking, and we find out that queen bee Savannah's perfect life isn't quite as perfect as it seems. Despite being produced by Superman Tom Welling, it's more 90210 than Smallville, thanks in part to Disney alumnus Ashley Tisdale and Aly Michalka's starring roles. There are nods to Glee (in the music video-like cheerleading routines) and Dawson's Creek (occasionally multi-hyphenated dialogue) along the way. Priya Elan

Skins

10pm, E4

It's the last episode in the series, and it's all rounded off with a suitably Skins-style series of capers, as the gang race to a church deep in the Somerset countryside so that Grace and Rich can get married. Obviously they get lost, take a lot of drugs and process their increasingly shaky friendships, and while some of the characters haven't always been consistent, there's a nice sense that the good will out, and everything will be all right in the end. How To Make It In America
10.50pm, Sky Atlantic

"Gentlemen, I may not have been born cool, but I was born with an instinct for business ?" Thanks to another cash investment from new board member Kappo, all Ben and Cam need now is 300 "50/50" vintage T-shirts, some uptown/downtown guests and the Crisp launch party is all set to go. Elsewhere, Rene and his gang of goons are still doing their best to stay out of the "papaya" business and go straight with the Rasta Monsta energy drinks, while Rachel interrogates Ben about his hazy E-fuelled memories from the night before.
