That's the question a former squeeze of the wayward actor - who has swapped crack and porn stars for wacky behaviour and media domination in recent weeks - has raised anyway.
Yep, the woman - who has not been named - has told E! Online that she reckons the Three and a Half Men star is faking it.
She was quoted as saying: "It feels like a big act. Sure it's some sort of psychotic break, but it's also just plain narcissism bubbling up to the top. I have never seen him like this."
In case you've been on holiday to the South Pole or something, Charlie has been hogging the headlines since a series of drug-fuelled parties forced him into rehab.
Now supposedly clean, he's been breaking records on Twitter, shacking up with two women, starting his own media empire, raising awareness about Haiti and taking on all and sundry in his trademark motor-mouthed rants.
