The song was released yesterday and has caused something of a furore thanks to lyrics such as: "I'm just a Holy Fool, oh baby he's so cruel, but I'm still in love with Judas, baby."
It hasn't gone down well with US group, the Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights.
President of the group Bill Donohue told HollywoodLife.com: "This is a stunt... Lady Gaga tries to continue to shock Catholics and Christians in general: she dresses as a nun... she swallows the rosary. She has not morphed into a caricature of herself."
He added: "She is trying to rip off Christian idolatry to shore up her talentless, mundane and boring performances."
Er... love her or loathe her, we're not sure Gaga could be called "mundane and boring".
Still, we fully expect the video to really get religious groups in a lather. Gaga has reportedly called it "the most exciting artistic moment of [her] career".
And according to Digital Spy, the film will tell Gaga's version of the Bible - co-director Laurieann Gibson has already declared: "It's really going to shock the world."
What do you think? Is Gaga running out of shock tactics? Your thoughts on the matter below please...
