Pictures published in the News of the World appear to show The Reidinator tackling a hoodie who left him with a bloody nose.
According to eyewitness Edward Upton, who took the snaps, Alex was strolling past a church in Richmond, London, when his hooded assailant walked into him.
"The guy just banged into Alex," Mr Upton told the paper. "I saw Alex try and get out of the way. Alex then stepped back and held his hands out as if to say, 'What's going on?'
"The man just smacked him in the face with a straight right. I was amazed he didn't go down."
Still, it wasn't long before Alex's fighting instincts kicked in and he reportedly "showed he could really handle himself".
Handling Katie Price, of course, wasn't quite so easy.
