Featuring ghostly vocals and spectral synths, this chillwave track lets its solemn atmosphere seep out slowly
This week Bleep.com will be celebrating the forthcoming Sonar festival by giving away two exclusive downloads every day, starting with songs from Holy Other and London-based producer Ewan Robertson, aka Offshore. The latter's Pepper features rubbery beats, synthetic strings and a sense of creeping unease while Manchester's Holy Other offers the opening track from his new EP, With U. While Offshore creates music that seems overtly gregarious, Holy Other's Know Where seeps out slowly with strangely pitched voices among the ghostly synths. At first it seems like the kind of thing that clogs up most music blogs, but as with the majority of artists featured in the giveaway (we're not allowed to say who ? you'll need to check Bleep.com) Holy Other are the forerunners of wherever this genre winds up now everyone's stopped calling it chillwave.
? Know Where and Pepper are available to download from Bleep.com.
