Madonna is starting to come across as rather ungrateful for her fame, fortune and adoring fans.While attempting to impress with her latest film in Venice, Madge was not only rude about a devoted follower's floral gift, she also squeezed in a little dig at pop sensation Lady Gaga.
In the past, Gaga has been known to gush about her idol, telling Jay Leno: "There is really no one that is a more adoring and loving Madonna fan than me. I am the hugest fan personally and professionally."
But the apparently humourless Queen of Pop is unimpressed.
According to Le Soir, when asked about the Poker Face singer at the Venice Film Festival press conference, Madge told a reporter: "As for Lady Gaga, I have no comment on her obsessions related to me, because I do not know if it is based on something profound or superficial."
Does it matter? Is it the obsession she objects to or just the superficial kind?. Is Madge just talking rubbish?
Nah... she's probably just peeved about the endless comparisons. After all, Gaga's Born This Way does bear more than a passing resemblance to Madonna's Express Yourself.
Haven't you heard Madge? Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
